Terms of Service

Last updated: 10 August 2026

TL;DR — THE SHORT VERSION

  • Spark Hub is free for families — always.
  • Free for creators too — we never charge you to feature your posts, and you keep full ownership and credit.
  • You must be 18+ to create an account or submit a tip.
  • Any images you upload must be ones you own or have permission to share.
  • Tips are screened automatically when you submit them. Clean tips appear straight away; anything flagged is held for review. We can remove content or restrict accounts at any time.
  • Listings are provided in good faith — always check with the venue before you travel.
  • Spark Hub is a discovery tool only — we're not responsible for the activities themselves.
  • We may update these terms from time to time. We'll let you know if anything important changes.

Welcome to Spark Hub. These Terms of Service explain how you can use our platform and what we ask of you in return. We have written them in plain English so they are easy to follow. Please read them before using Spark Hub.

By using Spark Hub, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Spark Hub (sparkhubfamily.co.uk), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, along with our Privacy Policy.

If you are using Spark Hub on behalf of someone else (for example, another parent), you confirm you have the authority to accept these terms on their behalf.

2. Who We Are

Spark Hub is a family activity discovery platform operated by Spark Hub Family Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

We help parents across North West England find local children's activities, venues, and events.

Contact: hello@sparkhubfamily.co.uk

3. Use of the Platform

Spark Hub is free to use and intended for parents and carers looking for family activities in North West England.

It is also free for content creators who take part in our Family Creator Network. We never charge you a fee or take any commission for featuring your posts. Taking part is entirely optional and non-exclusive, you keep ownership of your content, and you are credited every time it appears. Full details are on our Creators page.

You must:

  • Be aged 18 or over to create an account or submit content
  • Use the platform only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes
  • Not attempt to copy, scrape, extract, or reproduce any content from Spark Hub without our written permission
  • Not use the platform in any way that may harm, disrupt, or interfere with our service

Spark Hub is a discovery and planning tool only. We do not organise, host, or take responsibility for any activities or events listed on the platform.

4. User Accounts

To access features such as saving plans or submitting tips, you will need to create an account using Google sign-in.

When you register, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information
  • Not share your account with others or allow anyone else to access it
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account

You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.

We reserve the right to warn, suspend, or permanently remove any account that we believe has violated these terms, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

5. Community Content — Acceptable Use, Moderation & Licence

Spark Hub allows you to submit venue tips and cast votes on the accuracy of existing listings. This section explains what is and is not acceptable, how we moderate it, and what rights you grant us when you contribute.

Acceptable use:
Community features must be used honestly and in good faith. You must not submit content that is:

  • Abusive, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, or harassing
  • Irrelevant to the venue or activity being discussed
  • False, misleading, or deliberately inaccurate
  • Promotional or commercial in nature (spam, advertising, self-promotion)
  • In breach of any third party's rights, including copyright or privacy
  • Otherwise inappropriate for a platform used by families with children

Photo rule:
Do not upload any photo that identifies or could identify another person's child. Photos of your own children may only be included if you are comfortable with them appearing publicly on the platform.

How moderation works:
Votes (fixed true / not-true options) are published instantly — they contain no free text and carry low risk.

Tips (free-text submissions) are screened automatically by an AI classifier at the point of submission. Tips that pass screening are published immediately; tips that are flagged are held and reviewed by us before appearing on the platform.

Automated screening is not perfect. All published content — whether it appeared immediately or after review — remains subject to ongoing moderation. We reserve the right to remove any content, at any time, without notice, at our sole discretion.

Account restrictions:
If you violate these terms, or if we have reason to believe your account poses a risk to the platform or its users, we may warn, temporarily suspend, or permanently ban your account without prior notice. We are not obliged to give reasons.

Reporting content:
If you see something that shouldn't be there — inaccurate information, inappropriate content, or content that concerns you — please report it to us at hello@sparkhubfamily.co.uk. We aim to review all reports within 5 working days.

Licence to use your content:
By submitting a tip or uploading an image, you grant Spark Hub Family Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, and adapt that content for the purposes of operating and promoting the platform. You retain ownership of anything you submit.

(Plain English: we can show your tip and image on our website, but you still own it. And if something doesn't belong, report it and we'll deal with it.)

6. Intellectual Property

All content created by Spark Hub — including but not limited to text, design, logos, curation, and software — is the intellectual property of Spark Hub Family Ltd and is protected by copyright law.

You must not copy, reproduce, redistribute, scrape, or commercially exploit any content from Spark Hub without our prior written permission.

Automated data collection (including scraping bots or crawlers) is strictly prohibited.

7. Third-Party Links and Booking Sites

Spark Hub may contain links to third-party websites such as Eventbrite, venue booking pages, or council websites.

We provide these links for your convenience only. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or practices of any third-party websites. Visiting external links is at your own risk, and we encourage you to read the terms and privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

8. Accuracy of Listings

We take care to ensure that activity listings, venue information, and event details on Spark Hub are accurate and up to date. However, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any listing.

(Plain English: we do our best, but please double-check with the venue before travelling — times, prices, and availability can change.)

Listings on Spark Hub are provided in good faith and for information purposes only. Some listings are sourced from publicly available information or user submissions. We are not liable for any errors, omissions, or outdated information in any listing.

Before attending any event or visiting any venue, please verify details directly with the organiser or venue.

9. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. How we collect, use, and protect your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.

By using Spark Hub, you agree to our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

Spark Hub is a discovery and planning tool only. We do not organise, run, supervise, or take responsibility for any activities, events, or venues listed on the platform.

Parents and carers are responsible for:

  • Assessing whether any activity or venue is suitable for their child
  • Confirming current details with the organiser or venue before attending
  • Supervising their children at all times during any activity

To the fullest extent permitted by English law, Spark Hub shall not be liable for:

  • Any loss, injury, or damage arising from attending an activity or visiting a venue listed on our platform
  • Any inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated listing information
  • Any loss arising from use of or inability to use our platform

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If the changes are significant, we will notify registered users by email or by displaying a notice on the platform.

Your continued use of Spark Hub after any changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree to the updated terms, please stop using the platform and contact us to close your account.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or your use of Spark Hub shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Contact Us

If you have any questions about these Terms of Service, or if you wish to report a content concern, please contact us at:
